Our Programs

Community Impact

 We help where the need is greatest. Literacy Lubbock has the following programs:

  • Tiny Tots Family Literacy Program - Offered at Groves, Godeke, and the City of Wolfforth Libraries on Wednesdays at 12:30. Tiny Tots is an ESL story time for children up to age 4 and a parent. One free book is given to each family in attendance. Groves Library is located at 5520 19th Street. Wolfforth Library is located at 328 E Highway 62. Godeke Library is located at 5034 Frankford.
  • GED, College Prep, Essay and Math Dream Center Classes. After registering with Literacy Lubbock, students are given the GED Pre-Test. This test evaluates the student's needs and the student can then attend classes at the Dream Center at 1111 30th Street. (30th and Ave. L) on Monday- Thursday beginning at 10:00am and running until 2:00pm.  Classes are also offered at the East Lubbock Promised Neighborhood on Monday and Wednesday from 9:00am-11:00am. We offer GED night classes at 2 locations: Mahon Library on Monday and Tuesday from 6:00pm-8:00pm and The East Lubbock Promised Neighborhood on Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00pm-8:00pm.   • English as a Second Language Classes are offered in various levels, times and locations around Lubbock. An assessment test is required before classes can be attended.
  • Dyslexia and other reading difference classes using The Barton Program and the Laubach Reading Program. Students are paired one-to-one with tutors.
  • Books For Breakfast offers children books to start a library of their own.
