English as a Second Language
What is Literacy Lubbock’s ESL Program?
Basically, it’s a chance to connect with others.
Our ESL program teaches students how to speak, hear, read, and write the English language. To do that, Literacy Lubbock provides classes, tutors, learning materials, and other support to adults excited about learning English, but aren’t sure where to start. The best part? Our teachers sometimes take students out into the real world to apply their knowledge, whether it’s going to the museum, ordering at a restaurant, or shopping for clothes.
Language connects us all. It allows us to share our thoughts and feelings, to make our presence known, and to build community. Learning English is more than just learning a language—it’s about building a community that’s connected.
